The girl meets a man in a train and he kisses her in a tunnel and his moustache comes off on her face and he turns out to be a pickpocket and he steals her money and the police catch him. Also, for the picture prompt fun photo from yesterday which is beautiful (give it a look) of the Durango & Silverton train in winter (Colorado).

Watson held the jewel in his hand. It shone red as blood, which Watson felt was only appropriate, considering how much blood had been shed in the retrieval. Three men dead, including one brave constable who had gone to Holmes’ rescue. Holmes himself was wounded, but would soon recover. And all for a jewel its owner described as priceless. Indeed, how to put a price on a man’s life. Holmes would receive a reward for the ruby’s recovery, but Watson knew it would be put in trust for the constable’s widow and orphaned children. Holmes didn’t care for blood money.

It is July once more, and I have been thinking of the days when we woke to the dawn chorus, heard birdsong all day long, and at night there was the sound of the owl and the nightingale.

And today I remembered that strange case involving Mr Grant Munro, which led me to recall how well received your Bohemian role had been. And how we had discussed the case over the breakfast marmalade – do you remember Mrs Hudson commenting on how many orange pips there had been, when she made it?

By the way, I am still of the same opinion I expressed shortly before we met Miss Cushing.
