April Activity Post
Apr. 10th, 2018 10:29 pmFor this month’s activity, we are going to have a communal game of ‘Gin Hudson’!
This is a variation on the well-known game ‘Hangman’. I will pick a phrase from the canon to be guessed and members of the comm should choose letters in the comments—one letter per comment. If they are correct choices, I will naturally add them in. But if they are incorrect choices, Mrs. Hudson will take a glass of gin. If she reaches her seventh glass, then she will retire to bed, no-one gets any supper and the game is over!
The phrase for the first round was: 'The game is afoot' and it was guessed by Okapi.
The phrase for the second round was: 'You have a grand gift of silence, Watson' and was guessed by Mafief.
The phrase for the third round was: 'he had drifted into the habit of winding up every meal by taking out his false teeth and hurling them at his wife' and was guessed by Okapi.
Fourth round!
The phrase is:
I h a d _ _ _ _ e d a _ i d e _ h e b a r r e n _ a _ e r
a n d _ e a n i n _ b a _ _ i n _ _ _ h a i r
I _ e _ _ i n _ _ a b r _ w n _ _ _ d _
Let the guessing recommence!
Letters guessed so far:
n, a, b, h, d, i, w, r, e
As always, you needn’t take part in this activity if you don’t wish to. Once you’re a member, you can post what and when you want—as long as you keep to the 500 words or less wordcount and the ACD Holmes ‘verse. AUs, crossovers and fusions are all permitted, as long as the characters remain essentially recognisable as the original ACD versions.
Please see the profile for the full posting guidelines!
