Mar. 11th, 2018 03:57 pmTitle: Shopping in Harrods
Form/Word Count: 221B
Characters/Pairing: Mr Sherlock Holmes, Dr Watson, Esme, Mrs Hudson
Rating: G
Warning/Content: Mrs Hudson and Esme have been to Harrods
“I do hope everything’s all right,” Dr Watson remarked to Sherlock Holmes. “I noticed Mrs Hudson and Esme returned by cab earlier this afternoon, which is most unusual. And now they are a little late bringing up the tea.”
Holmes looked up briefly. “I’m sure we’d have heard if there was anything important going on.”
Just then Esme brought the tea tray into 221B Baker Street and apologised for the tardiness.
“I trust there isn’t a problem,” Dr Watson said.
“Oh no, Doctor, nothing serious,” Esme replied. “Mrs Hudson has been forced to have a little lie down after our visit to Harrods today.”
“Good heavens, I never realised shopping could be that traumatic.” Dr Watson looked rather alarmed. “Would it be an idea if I looked in on her later?”
Esme poured the tea before answering, “I’m sure that won’t be necessary, Doctor. She’ll be fine in a little while. And it wasn’t the shopping as such, only she tried out the new escalator.”
“Good heavens!” Dr Watson said. “It must have been quite an ordeal for the poor lady.”
“Well,” Esme replied, “They do offer a tot of brandy at the top to help revive passengers.”
“And just how many times did Mrs Hudson try out this escalator?” Holmes asked.
“Ah! She did say it was very good brandy.”

I didn't realise escalators went back so far! I've just been looking at a few photographs of the Harrods one. Fascinating stuff.
