For the activity this month, we would like you to write lists to Father Christmas on behalf of the canon’s characters.


For example, here is a possible list from Mrs. Hudson:


woolly vest
cocktail shaker
the latest sensational novel by Rhoda Broughton
a set of earplugs
an engrossing case for Mr. Holmes and Dr. Watson that takes them far, far away over the Christmas period

Once you’re a member, you can post what and when you want—as long as you keep to the 500 words or less wordcount and the ACD Holmes ‘verse. AUs, crossovers and fusions are all permitted, as long as the characters remain essentially recognisable as the original ACD versions.

I liked the last one especially. Gem-filled geese notwithstanding, I think Christmas must be a slow time for anyone in need of interesting crimes. I, too, am quite fond of the many dressing gowns.

I thought the last one was the best one too ^__^ And it is a nice little quirk in Holmes' personality that he appears to have an array of dressing gowns.

Replacement nibs for pen
A shirt to replace the one I ripped on the briars escaping from a large dog
A shirt to replace the one I used to stem Holmes' bleeding, which Mrs Hudson is unable to remove all the stains
New cuffs since two sets of mine are unaccountably singed
A heavy blanket to block out everything else
