The prompt for this month is based upon Dr. Watson’s Christmas story The Blue Carbuncle.
In tribute to the blue carbuncle itself and to the unfortunate geese, we want you to pick a precious stone or metal and an animal as well, and then include them in your story.
For example:
a story set in a pub called the Golden Lion
a housemaid called Ruby has to take a ferret for a walk
Holmes dresses up as a prize bull and takes the silver medal at an agricultural show
As always, you needn’t use the prompt if you don’t wish to. Once you’re a member, you can post what and when you want—as long as you keep to the 500 words or less wordcount and the ACD Holmes ‘verse. AUs, crossovers and fusions are all permitted, as long as the characters remain essentially recognisable as the original ACD versions.
Please see the profile for the full posting guidelines!
