This month’s activity is:
Bills
Unfortunately these are a part of everyone’s life, including the inhabitants of Baker Street. Workmen and shopkeepers send their bills to Holmes, Watson and Mrs. Hudson. And of course Holmes sends out his bills to his clients.
Some examples:
To: Mrs. Hudson
Bill for repairs to 221B:
Drains unblocked
Sorting out flood in bathroom
Sorting out strange noise in pipes
Plumber's note: I have now found the source of the problem but I believe you said last time you did not have the heart to evict him.
To: Mrs. Hudson
Bill from Wilton’s Wines and Spirits:
12 bottles of gin
24 bottles of light beer
7 bottles of Scotch
5 bottles of brandy
1 bottle of tonic
Hope this will suffice for this month but if not, please do not hesitate to contact us.
To Lord Brawlton:
The bill for retrieving your kidnapped goldfish plus expenses is enclosed.
S. Holmes

Dear Mr. Holmes:
Thank you once again for the return of Moby and Dick, and for your prompt bill.
In fact I had been going to send you a bill for the damage caused to the west wing, the fountains and my wife’s mental health during the course of your investigations.
But let's just call it even.
Please add your own bills in the comments!
As always, you needn’t take part in this activity if you don’t wish to. Once you’re a member, you can post what and when you want—as long as you keep to the 500 words or less wordcount and the ACD Holmes ‘verse. AUs, crossovers and fusions are all permitted, as long as the characters remain essentially recognisable as the original ACD versions.
Please see the profile for the full posting guidelines!

Sir—
if you recall, you moved out of our hotel somewhat abruptly in 1881. We did hope you would eventually return and claim that which in your excitement you had forgotten to take with you, but apparently it was not to be.
Your bulldog ‘Gumdrop’ has been the most delightful of guests, and so popular with the staff. However, as it has now been 15 years, we wonder if you would not mind coming and settling his bill.
