There once was a handsome cab

Ever ready for Holmes to grab

“When game’s a-loose,

I only want to deduce,

but Watson won’t ride in chariots drab!”

Criss-crossing London it roams

Streets, narrow and dark, it combs

"Oy, Watson, a clue?"

"No, 'strade, a horseshoe

Engraved 'Property of Sherlock Holmes!'”

Nice pun on hansom cab ^^ And a rather sweet and amusing idea all round. I just love the idea that Watson has to be pandered to and won't ride in any old thing ^_^

Me, too. I thought: why not a silly poem?

For a long time, I thought it was just a British spelling of 'handsome' and that y'all were just very keen on cabs. The clouds didn't fully part until a few weeks ago.
