Happy birthday, Mr. Holmes!


Yes, this month the activity post has been brought forward a little, in honour of this splendid day.



And the activity is:


Suggestions in the comments for what different characters would give Sherlock Holmes for his birthday.




An extra added activity:


One present that Mr. Holmes is hoping to receive is a delicious Epiphany tart from Okapi. But there has been an anguished note from Dr. Watson regarding gifts of lesser tarts (message passed on via my esteemed co-mod)—”Please, no more Epiphany tarts - if anyone can suggest what to do with those that have already been received, I would be extremely grateful."

So there you have it. Pie-eating contest? Slapstick at Scotland Yard? Victorian frisbees? The field is wide open.



As always, you needn’t take part in this activity if you don’t wish to. Once you’re a member, you can post what and when you want—as long as you keep to the 500 words or less wordcount and the ACD Holmes ‘verse. AUs, crossovers and fusions are all permitted, as long as the characters remain essentially recognisable as the original ACD versions.

I have already written a monograph on this subject, but naughty bits aside, I stand by my assertion that Watson would give Holmes a sample of fine tobacco (and then possibly retire to his club while Holmes smokes it all).

Excellent idea - also, Watson would open the windows, which would let in the cold, so he would again retire to his club.

Also, I think Holmes would wash all the jam jars out (from the tart)and have a nice new batch of ears in the lumber room collection.

In which case I can see Watson hastily disposing of the jars, since there are already quite enough ears in the lumber room.

Oh, crikey - I'd forgotten about the ears ^___^ Fingers crossed that Watson does indeed get to the jars first ^_^
