“What is that noise?” Holmes asked.

Watson looked up from his newspaper.  “What noise?”

“The tapping sound.  Can’t you hear it?”

“Oh yes.  Mouselet and the Ferret are practising their Morse code.  I believe they’re messaging the first lines of carols.  I haven’t been paying any attention to them.”

Holmes listened and nodded in agreement.  Then he exclaimed, “I don’t think much of their lyrics.”

“Why not?”

“Silent night, holy night…”

“What’s wrong with that?”

“Nothing, it’s the second line: Holmes is wrong, Watson’s right.”

“Mrs Hudson noticed the burn mark on your armchair.  She wants a word with you.”
