“What is that tapping noise?” Dr Watson asked.

“It’s the Ferret,” Mouselet replied.  “He’s practising Morse code.”

Watson listened.  “He appears to be tapping LET ME OUT.”

“So he is,” Mouselet agreed cheerfully.  She tapped twice with her right foot, once long and then shorter, followed by three long taps with her left foot.

The Ferret repeated his message.

Watson walked over to a drawer, which he found locked.  “Mouselet!”  She shrugged and looked innocent.  He turned the key and opened the drawer.  The Ferret climbed out.

“I don’t want to know,” Watson said, looking at the two of them.
