A bit late but the prompt has finally arrived by homing pigeon! Yes, the prompt for this month is:
Pigeon
So a story could involve racing/carrier pigeons, or feeding wild pigeons in the park or a square. You could opt for the meaning of “a dupe”, or the British expression of a pigeon being an area of concern or responsibility, ie, “That's not my pigeon, I’m afraid.” What about Holmes’ pigeon-holes or metaphorically being pigeonholed? Or perhaps Holmes and Watson are going clay pigeon shooting or Lestrade is dealing with a stool pigeon.
As always, you needn’t use the prompt if you don’t wish to. Once you’re a member, you can post what and when you want—as long as you keep to the 500 words or less wordcount and the ACD Holmes ‘verse. AUs, crossovers and fusions are all permitted, as long as the characters remain essentially recognisable as the original ACD versions.
