Never were two words more designed to cast fear into the bosom of man than when his landlady mutters, “Spring cleaning.”  No sooner had Mrs Hudson made mention of them one morning after breakfast, than I was upstairs and packing a bag.  I rushed down the stairs to find Holmes had pre-empted my precipitative flight and was hailing a cab.  We hurriedly climbed inside, Holmes calling ‘Liverpool Street’ and I ‘Paddington’.  We settled on Victoria.

It was only as we drew into the station that I turned to Holmes and said, “But it’s October.”

However, we still dared not return.

I like this one a great deal ^_____^ It's such a perfect ending. And I particularly liked the detail of them having to agree on a station first before making their escape ^____^
