Warning/Content: Just a typical rehearsal for one of the Ferret's plays

 

Once Dr Watson had extinguished the flames, fortunately minor, he enquired as to the cause.

“Ah,” Aemelia Vole explained.  “It was a rehearsal for the Ferret’s latest play.  Mouselet had fainted after the Ferret had rescued her from the baddie, and he was waving a piece of newspaper to revive her.  Only the newspaper caught fire.”

The Ferret looked philosophical.  “Maybe I could incorporate that into the play.  They say the smell of burning often helps revive someone who has fainted.”

“No,” Watson said.  “I have enough trouble with Holmes setting fire to things, without you doing so as well.”
