We do hope that your New Year has begun in the brightest of fashions and that the excesses of the seasonal overeating are beginning to wear off.

How are the new year resolutions going?  Mrs Hudson is extremely suspicious that Mr Holmes' resolution not to set fire to anything unnecessarily has already been broken, if the hidden corner of the tablecloth is anything to go by.

So may I suggest a rather safer resolution, which should not result in any unwanted conflagrations, unless one's pipe is left unattended as the words flow ...

acdholmesfest will be running a new Fanworks Exchange and signups will begin on January 6th.  What a perfect present that would be for Mr Holmes on his birthday - the offer to produce a fanwork in which he features.  And Mrs Hudson will be happy too, as it won't create any mess.
