Title: Relativity
Author: gardnerhill
Form/Wordcount: 100
Characters/Pairings: Sherlock Holmes / John Watson (in prospect)
Rating: G
Warnings/Content: None
Summary: Decades before Einstein discovered Time is relative.
Author’s Notes: For the Holmes Minor December 2019 prompt: wait.
Curious, how the very process of waiting is altered depending upon its purpose.
I have sat in a pitch-black room, heart in my mouth, for over three hours, waiting for the appearance of a deadly snake. I have sat on a chest of French gold in a bank vault, awaiting the wicked and clever man who'd planned to steal it, for over two hours.
Neither of those instances agitated and terrified me as does this 30-minute wait for Watson's return to 221b from his club. I have a newly-bought ring I wish to give him, and a query to make.
