“St Bartholomew,” Dr Watson said suddenly.

Lestrade and Holmes turned round to look at him in some surprise.

“And St Thomas,” Watson added.

“I thought you were asleep,” Lestrade said.

“Just enjoying the comfort of my armchair with my eyes shut,” Watson replied.  “You were discussing which saints a cabbie would most likely be asked for.

“We were,” agreed Holmes.  “Lestrade said St Paul, because visitors wished to see the cathedral.”

“I would suggest saints Bartholomew and Thomas, or, as they are more regularly known, Barts and Tommies, an even more popular destination.”

Lestrade laughed.  “I believe you’re right, doctor.”
