“By Saint Anoia,” Mrs Hudson exclaimed.  She glared at the untidy state of 221B and the consulting detective sitting completely oblivious in the middle of the mess.

“Who, Mrs Hudson?” Bessie asked.  “I don’t think I’ve come across Saint Anoia before.  She’s not one of those Roman Catholic saints is she?”

“No, dear.  She is the patron saint of things which get stuck in drawers.”

“Oh, I understand.  When you stand and rattle the drawer which refuses to open.”

“Precisely.  I am hoping she will be equally effective with consulting detectives who refuse to move, so I can clear up.”
