“Come, Watson,” Sherlock Holmes said, “What’s making you smile?”

“I’ve just had to go and bail out Mrs Hudson and Mrs Turner from the police station again.  As you can imagine, they are totally unrepentant.”

“What have they done this time?”

“They, with their new friend, Mrs Banks, had thrown a brick tied in a purple ribbon through the Post Office window.”

Watson smirked and Holmes said, “And?”

“When the police sergeant told our inestimable landlady she should consider her reputation, she told him, ‘Well behaved women seldom make history.’”

“And far be it from us to disagree with her!”
