Dr Watson carefully sorted the messages, and ordered Billy to send them at regular intervals:

<Remains of experiment found. Mrs H unimpressed JW>

<Do not return tonight. Landlady unamused JW>

<How any man can make that much mess I do not know MH>

<Tomorrow will be probably safe to return JW>

<Been to cobblers. Collected brown shoes as requested Billy>

<No wonder you have no wife. It has taken me hours to clean your rooms MH>

“I have an extremely angry landlady and a concerned friend, Mr Brown.”

Do not return tonight. Landlady unamused JW I've a feeling, to save money, Watson could have just sent 'Landlady unamused'. I'm sure Holmes could have extrapolated the full message based on previous situations ^___^
