“Have you ever considered the humble ants, Mrs Hudson?” Sherlock Holmes said, one sunny morning.  “The way they march forward with determination to achieve their goal should be inspiration for us all to continue with our work, despite the setbacks.”

Mrs Hudson glared at him, before replying acerbically, “I find pouring boiling water over them works quite well.  Or failing that, I stamp firmly on them.”  She gave a demonstration, which caused the saucepan lids to rattle.

Dr Watson chuckled.  “I think, Holmes, this is a not so subtle hint we should get out from under our esteemed landlady’s feet!”
