Summary: A postcard from Inky to Doctor Watson.
Author's Note: for the monthly prompt and the Watson Woes Amnesty Prompt #6 [Special Appearance by Holmes and Watson. Spotlight a supporting character of your choosing. Holmes and/or Watson can appear, but
only briefly (less than a paragraph, or a few sentences)]. I was thinking of the watercolours of Alfred Heaton Cooper.
I hope this postcard finds you well. The watercolour scene opposite is the view from my den, rendered by a new friend also summering at the Lake District artists’ colony.
With spirit and muse restored, I am finding small moments of happiness to savour each day: the white of a cabbage butterfly against a green canopy, the sweet scent of honeysuckle, the many rhythms of rain.
All my best to Mister Holmes and please let Ferret know that I shall be in the front row of opening night of A Mustelid of Destiny.
Your friend,
Inky Quill
