Title: In Lhassa
Wordcount: 100
Characters/Pairings: Sherlock Holmes; could be read as Holmes/Watson
Rating: G
Warnings/Content: for the prompt "foil" (begging forgiveness on gold leaf vs gold foil terminology divisions) - some musings during the Hiatus
Over time, my escape and the ongoing necessity for concealment evolved into something one could uncharitably call tourism.
Presently, I find myself with little but time, and sights such as this: a golden temple.
It is not, in truth, entirely gold. Only gilded, drawn over with foil thin as a hair. A stunning effect, yet one I can't help find pointless, despite the artistry.
For standing alone, I know there is no part of me which remains luminous. I stare unfeeling at the statues, the columns, the walls, and know myself to be inert: merely the crude wooden form below.
