Admin Post: Monthly Prompt: July

This month we thought it would be good to have as our subject the beautiful country of Scotland.  As you know it is a favourite place of our dear Queen, who spends many happy times at Balmoral.  It is also the current destination of our revered landlady, who has gone on a tour of the country with some friends.  Indeed we have not heard from her for a while, so it is possible she has had an encounter with the Loch Ness Monster.  Mr Holmes thinks it more likely that she and Nessie have formed an alliance.  However, Dr Watson suspects, given her travelling companions, that Mrs Hudson is visiting a distillery (or two or three) and that is why she has not written.

So, yes, our prompt is

Scotland

And you may choose the country itself, or tartan or shortbread, or anything else which the prompt inspires you to write. 

You aren't obliged to use the prompt if you don’t wish to. Once you’re a member, you can post what and when you want—just be sure to keep to the 500 words or less wordcount and what I understand is referred to as the ACD Holmes ‘verse. AUs, crossovers and fusions are all permitted, as long as the characters remain essentially recognisable as the original ACD versions.
