One autumn morning Holmes glared at his breakfast egg and remarked, “I see the latest issue of The Strand is out, for whoever was cooking our eggs has paid far more attention to your newest ridiculously sensational story than they should.”

Strangely, my egg seemed to have been correctly timed.  “Actually, Holmes,” I replied, “I believe Mrs Hudson is still annoyed with you after the affair of the purple tinged pillowcase.”

Holmes compared his burnt toast with my perfectly browned slices.  “I fear you may be correct,” he muttered. 

I poured him a cup of tea and passed it over.
