This month’s activity is called:

Work & Play

And the idea behind it is to come up with ideas, in a couple of sentences, about work and play overlapping for our characters.

Some examples:

A locked room murder happens at the Diogenes Club, with the culprit having to be one of the members currently on the premises. Mycroft is finally able to enjoy solving a mystery all on his own without having to expend much energy.

Mrs. Hudson goes on a busman's holiday, helping out at a children's home. After putting up with her tenants, dealing with the behaviour of actual small boys is quite relaxing.

Miss Violet Smith, now Mrs. Cyril Morton and wealthy heiress, invents the first exercise bicycle. Whilst cycling you also power an attached pianola, so you have beautiful piano music as you pedal.

And my esteemed colleague informs me: Aemelia Vole is currently embroidering the Ferret's new waistcoat with stitches which say in Morse code 'No snacks'.

As always, you needn’t take part in this activity if you don’t wish to. Once you’re a member, you can post what and when you want—as long as you keep to the 500 words or less wordcount and the ACD Holmes ‘verse. AUs, crossovers and fusions are all permitted, as long as the characters remain essentially recognisable as the original ACD versions.
