In the early days of their friendship Watson wrote that infamous list of Holmes’ ‘limits’. For this activity, pick a canon character and put together a similar list for them. Or indeed, put together an updated list for Holmes himself.


An example, using Mrs. Hudson as subject:


Knowledge of literature - likes a good Gothic romance as light relief from her everyday life.

Knowledge of politics - impressive, despite not being allowed to vote.

Knowledge of padlocks - extensive; has tried most of them for her broom cupboard.

Patience of a saint.

Can identify 15 varieties of gin from aroma alone, whilst weeping and tearing up Mr. Holmes’ tenancy agreement.

As always, you needn’t take part in this activity if you don’t wish to. Once you’re a member, you can post what and when you want—as long as you keep to the 500 words or less wordcount and the ACD Holmes ‘verse. AUs, crossovers and fusions are all permitted, as long as the characters remain essentially recognisable as the original ACD versions.
