Welcome to
holmes_minor! A brand new comm dedicated to microfiction and poetry set in the ACD Sherlock Holmes ‘verse.
holmes_minor is a sister comm to the long established
sherlock60. As you may already know, over there we write 60 word fics and poems inspired by individual stories in the canon. But we’ve decided to expand our horizons and start up a comm where we can try all kinds of microfiction and poetry, and where we can write in the ACD Holmes ‘verse in general.
The basic rule for
holmes_minor is simply that your piece must always be 500 words or less. AUs, crossovers and fusions are all permitted, as long as the characters remain essentially recognisable as the original ACD versions. But please see the profile for the full guidelines on how to post.
You must be a member before you can post to
holmes_minor—but that is only to avoid any problems with spam posting. Everyone is welcome to join, and all membership requests will be dealt with ASAP—usually within 24 hours. Once you are a member, you can post whenever and whatever you like, as long as you keep to the wordcount and the ACD Holmes ‘verse.
To get you started, here is our very first monthly prompt:
Small but perfectly formed.
Do feel free to ask any questions in the comments. And watch out for another post on 15th March! We will be asking for suggestions then on what you would like to see happen in
holmes_minor in the future.
