Warning/Content: Something white shoots across the floor
“There it goes again,” Holmes exclaimed.
“What?” Watson asked, looking up from his newspaper.
Holmes pointed to a small white object which started drifting across the floor before it began to roll, stopping with a thump against Watson’s chair leg.
“Ah, the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come,” Watson remarked.
He picked the object up, extracted the Ferret and shook out the pillowcase.
“I am practising for our Hallowe’en pageant,” the Ferret explained.
“I thought Mouselet and Aemelia were making your costume,” Holmes said.
“They will be, but they’re too busy making their own at the moment,” the Ferret grumbled. “So I thought I’d improvise. If I cut some holes for eyes, I think it will be okay.”
“I am not sure Mrs Hudson will appreciate holes in her pillowcase, old chap,” Watson said. “Better to wait for Mouselet and Aemelia. There’s plenty of time yet.”
