Title: The Lumber Room
Form/Word Count: 200
Characters/Pairing:  Mrs Hudson, Aggie the maid
Rating: G
Warning/Content: There is less space in the lumber room than Mrs Hudson expected.

Mrs Hudson considered the problem.  She was sure there had been more space available in the lumber room when she’d come up the day before, which was why she’d decided to bring up some of the mismatched china, rather than have it using up space in her kitchen cupboards.  Now there wasn’t room to swing round a consulting detective (no need to be cruel to a cat).

She thought for a moment and went back downstairs to speak to Aggie.  She had her suspicions.  They were spring cleaning, so the broom cupboard was constantly in use, which meant no-one had risked misappropriating it.  It was therefore conceivable certain activities had been moved temporarily to the lumber room.

Then she and Aggie went back to the lumber room and re-arranged some of the boxes, blocking the gap which gave access to the back of the room.  Once that was done, they returned to the kitchen.

“But what if you need something from round the back?” Aggie asked.

“I’m sure the pathway will have returned by the time that becomes necessary,” Mrs Hudson said with a knowing smile.

Some time later they heard quite an amount of crashing coming from up above.
