Your fic brought a rather bittersweet memory to mind ^_^ My father was a gardener by profession and after he died, a very long time ago now, we considered putting "St. Fiacre, pray for..." on his headstone. But in the end we decided not to because I was worried people might wonder why we were asking the patron saint of venereal disease to pray for him ^____^ I think I may have been overthinking it.
I love the two kinds of bravery Watson has here - he is cool headed in a dangerous situation and willing to kill an aggressor in order to save further people. But he also has the bravery to face the family of the man he killed and offer support to them. I think you've got right to the heart of Watson's personality.
