Family
That is, fics concentrating on familial relationships—taking a closer look at those people who, for better or worse, through blood or marriage, the canon characters have no choice but to be connected to. Also, people they do have a choice in being connected to—spouses, both legal and unofficial, and children, biological and adopted.
There are many familiar family relationships to write about, of course, but what about looking at some of the less obvious ones too? For instance, does Mrs. Hudson have any in-laws that she keeps in contact with? Does Inspector Lestrade have any siblings?
Perhaps you could take a closer look at some of the clients and their families—what happens after the canon story ends? Or before it starts?
As always, you needn’t use this prompt if you don’t wish to. Once you’re a member, you can post what and when you want—as long as you keep to the 500 words or less wordcount and the ACD Holmes ‘verse. AUs, crossovers and fusions are all permitted, as long as the characters remain essentially recognisable as the original ACD versions.
