“Can you mend it?” the Ferret asked. Aemelia looked cross, but his woebegone expression softened her glare.
“How did it happen?” Mouselet said sympathetically; she knew how fond he was of his super-hero cloak.
“I was rehearsing with Dr Watson when the evil villain slipped,” the Ferret said.
“You’ve no right to call Dr Watson that,” Aemelia protested, “Whatever he has done.”
“The villain’s a glove puppet,” Mouselet explained. “Dr Watson hasn’t got the hang of it yet.”
Aemilia finished examining the cloak. “Don’t worry, Ferret. I can sew the tear up so no-one will see the stitches.”
“Thank you.”
