Fic: Introducing the Marylebone Monthly Illustrated: G
Title: Introducing the Marylebone Monthly Illustrated
Form/Word count: 290
Characters/Pairing: The Ocelot, Mouselet, the Sloth, the Ferret, Inky Quill, Aemelia Vole
Rating: G
Warning/Content: This is the opportunity for new readers to learn about the Marylebone Monthly Illustrated
It has come to my attention there are some amongst our readers who are curious as to how I, the Ocelot, editor of the Marylebone Monthly Illustrated, the Sloth, Mouselet, the Ferret, Inky Quill and Aemelia Vole came to be involved with Mr Holmes and Dr Watson. I have therefore agreed to write an article providing further details.
I first met the Doctor and Mr Holmes during the case involving the lighthouse and the trained cormorant: What Watson Didn’t Reveal. Shortly after this I began publishing The Ocelot Tales, which formed part of Round 2 of
sherlock60. Mouselet began her contribution at this point with Stanley Hopkins has an Admirer. She has been besotted with him ever since.
By the time Round 4 of
sherlock60 came around The Marylebone Monthly Illustrated was making regular contributions. Circulation had grown considerably and extra staff needed to be taken on, hence the Sloth becoming sub-editor and the arrival of the Ferret. Frankly, the Ferret needs as little introduction as possible, since he is quite able to do so all by himself, but The Ferret’s New Clothes shows The Gang (as we are known collectively) in a representative light.
Inky Quill, our cousin from over the water, will happily answer any questions anyone may have about him. We recommend his poetry to all our readers. And finally, we have recently been joined by Aemilia Vole, who was rescued by Inspector Lestrade (here) and who provides all our millinery needs, as well as working with Mouselet on various costumes.
We trust this will provide some further details for our readers. Should you wish to take out a subscription to the Marylebone Monthly Illustrated, further details of the publication can be found on our Promotional Leaflet.
