Warning/Content: The little crafters are busy
It was very peaceful in 221B. Those who were most disruptive, Holmes and the Ferret, were making investigations at certain offices, which, since it was Saturday afternoon, would be closed and therefore no-one would be aware of their presence. Dr Watson was engrossed in his latest novel and Mouselet, Aemelia Vole and Poley the Moley had begun to prepare costumes for the Ferret’s Summer Spectacular HMS Penzance.
Mouselet was stitching pirate shirts with embroidered cuffs, Aemelia was decorating bonnets with nautical themes and Poley was making beaded belts. They chatted happily as they worked, pleased with the progress they were making.
“Are you sure the costumes are what the Ferret wanted?” Dr Watson asked. “His descriptions sounded rather more elaborate.”
“Of course they are,” Poley replied. “He gives us his ideas; we decide what will work.”
“He can object if he wants to,” Mouselet added.
“But he’ll get what he’s given,” Aemelia said.
Watson nodded. Mrs Hudson adopted a similar attitude with her tenants.
