Fic: Timed To Perfection: G

Title: Timed To Perfection
Form/Word Count: 172
Characters/Pairing:  Dr Watson, Mouselet, the Ferret
Rating: G
Warning/Content: Rehearsals for a display are progressing...

“Our hero leaps over the barrier to rescue the heroine from the oncoming train,” Dr Watson narrates.

Mouselet waits patiently as the wooden train comes nearer before doing her own leaping and getting out of its way.

“Sorry!” the Ferret yells.  “I got my paw caught in my superhero cloak.”

“Once more,” Dr Watson says.  He resets the train and repeats his narration.  This time the Ferret arrives to find Mouselet watching from on top of the train.

“What are you doing up there?” the Ferret demands.

“I have less chance of being flattened this way,” Mouselet explains.

“It’s all right, Mouselet, I’ll make sure to stop the train before you come to any harm,” Dr Watson says.  “Let’s try it again.  Third time lucky!”

The Ferret arrives, and rescues Mouselet from the oncoming train, which suddenly veers off to one side and plummets to the floor, having been derailed by a button which has pinged off the Ferret’s waistcoat.

“Oh bother!” the Ferret says.  “Just when we were timed to perfection.”

“Sorry!” the Ferret yells. “I got my paw caught in my superhero cloak.” We've all been there ^____^

I was particularly taken with Mouselet's decision to be a damsel in distress on top of the train. Very sensible - especially when you're waiting to be saved by the Ferret ^___^

Mouselet is very practical, as well as endearing:-)
