As Dr Watson made his way up the stairs to 221B, he heard a female voice in full song:

Oh!  Doctor Watson, what shall I do?
There’s been another explosion
And the tablecloth’s stained bright blue
Even a very large rent rise won’t cover all of the cost
Oh!  Doctor Watson, think of all the linen I’ve lost.

He opened the door to his rooms and surveyed the chaos inside, before glaring at the instigator of the chaos.

“Mrs Hudson been at the gin again, Watson?” Sherlock Holmes remarked cheerfully.

“Quite possibly, Holmes,” Watson replied.  “But who can blame her?”
