“What happened about the cricketing tableau?” the Sloth asked.

“Sadly, it had to be abandoned,” the Ocelot replied with a grin.

“Oh, why?”

“Dr Watson explained that the tail-end batsmen are sometimes called ‘rabbits’ because they’re not very good.”

“Yes, because they’re normally bowlers.  But that shouldn’t have been a problem.”

“But then he added, ‘And after the rabbits comes the ferret.’”

“Ah!”

“Yes.  Mouselet and Aemelia started to laugh, and the Ferret departed in a huff.  Which rather put paid to Mr Holmes’ tableau.”

“Quite.  And after they’d only just stopped asking him if he was ‘silly mid on’.”

It's quite the language is cricket! I'm not surprise Ferret took offense. :)
