Fic: First Birthday: Gen

Title: First Birthday
Rating: Gen
Length 221b
Summary: It's a lovely (and special) day in the park.
Author's Notes: Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] scfrankles! Based on this news story of a shark-napping from an aquarium in a stroller last week.

“May I?”

“Please.”

“Such a nice day, isn’t it?”

“Indeed.”

“Perfect for taking a stroll around the park.”

“Quite. And how old is your little one?”

“Sometimes it seems like he was born just yesterday.”

“Yes, it does often seem like that. Mine was born today, in fact. It’s her birthday.”

“Oh, happy birthday, pretty poppet! Many returns of the day! Oh, feel that breeze. How lovely! So many of us out today with our bundles of joy all bundled up. Yes, everybody looks like they belong except for—THAT ONE!”

“Oh, my! Well, nice to—uh, good-bye! Dear me, one wouldn’t expect such fleetness of foot from a nanny of her age. Nor quite that deep a baritone. And really that baby looked awfully, uh, not quite hairy, almost spiny, but that can’t be right. Aren’t there quite a lot of police suddenly? Oh, the nanny’s assaulting that couple with perambulator. That’s not a baby! That’s a bucket! And that’s not a baby either! It’s a gargantuan hedgehog.  Oh! There’s a fish in the bucket! Not a fish, a shark!  And the police are putting handcuffs on the couple!  And now the odd nanny is pushing one perambulator, with shark and hedgehog, towards the Zoo. Enough excitement for one day, my Supreme Commander, let’s go home and celebrate your birthday!”
