I do like that minor detail about Holmes wanting the earrings to make a dramatic entrance - it's so Holmes that he wants a bit of drama instead of going for the sensible option ^__^ Oh, and I love the detail of the nanny 'marching' her charge away. Not actually running, oh no - it's more a case of her disapproving of aliens from outer space, rather than being afraid of them ^___^ And of course the repeat assault from Mrs. Hudson was most amusing too. (Though, poor Holmes and Watson ^^")
