May Activity Post
For the activity this month we are continuing with the flower theme.
As you know, there are many poems that begin ‘Roses are red, violets are blue…’ We are going to rework that idea a little. We’re keeping the rhyming scheme but for this activity you can pick whatever flowers and colours you want for your poems!
Some examples:
Gardenias are white
Camellias are pink
It's a lovely bouquet
But you still drive me to drink
(Penned by a Mrs. S. Hudson)
Hydrangeas are blue-green
Speedwells are blue-grey
Mr. Holmes is undercover
As Queen of the May
Please leave all your poems in the comments!
As always, you needn’t take part in this activity if you don’t wish to. Once you’re a member, you can post what and when you want—as long as you keep to the 500 words or less wordcount and the ACD Holmes ‘verse. AUs, crossovers and fusions are all permitted, as long as the characters remain essentially recognisable as the original ACD versions.
Please see the profile for the full posting guidelines!

Tea is weak
Of the fate of the tea tray
We do not speak

The berries are black
My curtains are on fire
Mr Holmes is back

Come for the gumshoe
You'll be kissin' the ground!

Roses are white
And like York and Lancaster
Mr Holmes has been in a fight

Doyle's lament
Violets are many
Tis' a shame Holmes (dead then alive)
S'worth such a penny!

A plea from Mrs H
Faces are red,
The broom cupboard's meant
To store brooms in instead.

Moor caution
Fog paints it dark grey;
And a hell hound, dear Watson,
Is heading this way...

Inky's contribution
Quills are spiny
What use's a sword
When your vocabulary's tiny!

And buttercups are yellow
Ferret has a flower crown
What a silly fellow

Dogs may bite
Dogs may leave curious clues
