Fic: An Unexpected Difficulty: G

Title: An Unexpected Difficulty
Form/Word Count: 100
Characters/Pairing:  Sherlock Holmes, Dr Watson
Rating: G
Warning/Content: Holmes is getting made up

I watched as Holmes finished applying make-up to his face, prior to going out.  “You remind me of Neville St Clair,” I remarked.

“Excellent,” Holmes replied.  “That was the effect I was aiming for.”

“Yes,” I said thoughtfully, “the man you exposed with the simple expedient of a sponge and some water.”

“Correct.  But why are you labouring the point?”

“If you’d looked out of the window instead of concentrating on your make-up, you would have seen it is currently pouring with rain.  At this rate you won’t reach the end of the street before your make-up starts to run!”

Disguise has its limitations. Perhaps an umbrella?
