Alice, the new maid at Baker Street, approached Mrs Hudson, looking very worried. “I’ve just heard Mr Holmes. I think he’s in the broom cupboard and he’s talking to someone.”
“Don’t worry, Alice,” Mrs Hudson said. “Mr Holmes sometimes likes to try out his deductions with his imaginary friends, Mr Broom and Mr Mop.” She raised her voice, “But unfortunately, Mr Broom and Mr Mop have jobs of their own to do and won’t be able to stay and play for much longer. Now, dear, let’s go and get some tea and then we’ll carry on with the cleaning afterwards.”
