The prompt for this month is:

Learning Something New

Maybe this could straightforwardly be Holmes and Watson uncovering new information for a case. Or maybe you could take a look back at their school and university days. Maybe it’s a hard life lesson that’s been learned, or perhaps the learning is practical—learning how to drive a car, for example. Or maybe a character learns something new and surprising about someone they thought they knew well.

As always, you needn’t use the prompt if you don’t wish to. Once you’re a member, you can post what and when you want—as long as you keep to the 500 words or less wordcount and the ACD Holmes ‘verse. AUs, crossovers and fusions are all permitted, as long as the characters remain essentially recognisable as the original ACD versions.

Please see the profile for the full posting guidelines!

Suggested by my esteemed colleague, and inspired by thoughts of holiday buckets and spades, the prompt for this month is:

Hand Utensils

Use a utensil in your story in some way: a spade, a mop, an iron, a gun… Something from the kitchen, something from the laboratory, something from the armoury… Whatever you like!
